Walid Nahas is a composer, performer and painter whose passion for music and art has melded into a perpetual form of storytelling. He continuously finds ways to make space and time his canvas, one that he fills with a spectrum of notes and a melody of colors.

Walid’s interest in music and art began as a child when he began playing the piano at the age of 9 and soon was drawn to painting. He grew up in a household of musicians and was marinated in a culture of art with his mother as an Art Historian and his father as an Architect.

Following years of classical piano training, Walid would transform the classics in order to express his stories and tastes. He expanded his musical horizons by teaching himself guitar, bass, percussions, and his favorite, the harmonica. At the age of 15, he began to compose for numerous bands.

As a self-taught painter, Walid translated his approach to music into tangible form as he built a co-dependent relationship between painting and composing. He discovered a similarity between colors and sounds and constantly makes this spectrum his playground.

His music displays a neo-romantic, melodious feel while displaying influences from Chopin, Debusy, and Saint-Saëns. His art, however, is an embodiment of expressionism as he was always drawn to the young abstract expressionist movement with Kandinsky and Pollock. He is fascinated by the emotional intensity of its philosophy and technique and allows it to beautifully contrast with his music.

Walid’s art is a stream of immersive sensations. Let him take you on a harmonically scenic journey.
